Thank you so very much for supporting the Fairbanks North Star Borough community!
Thank you for caring about our community!
With the support of thousands of concerned citizens like you, I was elected to the assembly in 2017. I have been advocating for long term fiscal planning, lower taxes, and stronger protections for personal property and privacy rights since then. Your continued support will enable me to work towards those ends for another three years.
The election is Tuesday, October 6th, 2020.
I grew up with a deep respect for other human beings and our natural environment which was instilled in me by my parents, my church, and my involvement with the Boy Scouts of America. My father and grandfather also taught me valuable lessons in personal finance and investing.
I chose Alaska as my home after graduating from high school 14 years ago. I enrolled at UAF to study finance and economics and graduated with a BBA in Finance in 2009. I then went on to earn a Masters Degree in Resource and Applied Economics in 2013.
I worked my way through college as a tour guide for Northern Alaska Tour Company helping visitors safely enjoy the haul road from Fairbanks, through Coldfoot, and all the way to Prudhoe Bay. This was a great way to share my love of the outdoors with others.
I started my own company, Fairbanks Aurora Tours, in 2017. It flourished until the economic impacts of the pandemic hit. Fortunately, the business was in a position to save money in the good times, so it is positioned to withstand the current challenges. Despite the setback, I am extremely grateful to Explore Fairbanks and others for their efforts to expand the hospitality industry in the interior and the opportunities that they have created for myself and dozens of other entrepreneurs to create their own businesses. I am thoroughly confident that with a little patience and perseverance that Fairbanks and the surrounding borough, like the visitor industry, has a bright future in the years ahead.
